To God Be the Glory Stewardship Emphasis – Our 2008 Capital Stewardship emphasis is coming October 26th through November 16th and is entitled “To God Be the Glory.” Begin praying now about how God would have you participate in this year’s campaign. Your family will have the opportunity to give a one-time gift on Sunday, November 16th, and make a commitment for gifts to be given throughout 2009.
One-Day Women’s Conference – Be a part of our one-day Women’s Conference on Saturday, September 20th from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. right here at CFBC! Dana James will speak on “Being a Joyful Clay Pot” (based on 2 Corinthians 4:7-10). The cost is $18. Pick up a registration card from the Women’s Ministry table in the rear lobby.
Forty Days of Prayer and Fasting – From October 1st through November 9th our entire church is being called to a time of intense prayer for the move into our new Worship Center. The goal is to have several people praying every day for forty days, in preparation for a great movement of God’s Spirit as we make the transition into the new Worship Center. If God so leads, we are also asking that many consider fasting for one meal, one day a week throughout this time to devote yourself more fully to prayerPlease pray, and watch for more information during September!
Men’s Fraternity Begins This Thursday, September 4th! – Men’s Fraternity meets each Thursday from 6:00 until 7:15 a.m. in the Christian Activities Center at Collierville First Baptist Church. Men’s Fraternity meets for eleven consecutive weeks from Thursday, September 4th, through Thursday, November 13th. During the first semester, Dr. Chuck Herring will present Part One of The Great Adventure. Come early and enjoy a full breakfast each week for the low price of $3 per person.
Christmas at Gaylord Opryland Hotel – Make your plans now for “Joy to the World” dinner and show featuring Louise Mandrell, Treasures for the Holidays craft show, Hall of Trees and ICE! The dates are Tuesday and Wednesday, December 16th and 17th; the destination is Nashville; and the cost of $200 per person includes room, some meals, and the show.
Music and Missions (M&M’s) – Children’s Choir, Girls in Action (GAs), and Royal Ambassadors (RAs) for all kids 1st through 5th Grades begin this Wednesday, September 3rd! Choir meets from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. and missions meet from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. Come to Kidsville!
Golf Scramble – Join us Saturday, September 20th at Cherokee Valley Golf Course, one of Mississippi’s nicest public courses! We have an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, and the $55 price includes cart, lunch and prizes. To register or for more information, call the Recreation Ministry office (853-2668).

Get Music! – Join us for our Open House on Wednesday, September 10th at 5:30 (Orchestra) in the Worship Center or at 6:45 (Choir) in the rear lobby for snacks and a peek at the new Fall & Christmas music we’re presenting, as well as an early Christmas present! Our special guest that night is prolific composer and arranger David T. Clydesdale! Join us as we prepare to move into our new Worship Center!
